Today is the first day of spring and it has been gorgeous outside! The days are practically inviting you outside to get healthy. Below are some great ideas to keep your hot body, have fun, make friends and enjoy the great outdoors:
Build a lunch time walk club: Sitting at your desk all day long creates tight, sore muscles and restlessness. Getting together and walking with co-workers will help clear your mind, stretch out stiff muscles, invigorate you, forge friendships and enjoy the weather. This simple step may set you up to create more healthy choices throughout your day!
Join a running club: There are actually clubs where people get together to train for races and run together for fun. A running club is a great way to help meet new people and stay on track with your workouts! Google running clubs in your area to find the one that’s right for you. All levels are typically welcome, but you can always start a running group of your own.
Try outdoor interval training: Take your workout to a park and use what’s around you to add some toning or ab exercises to your workout. Pick a route and walk, run or sprint to different objects that can add some extra challenge to your workout. Use a bench for tricep dips, push-ups, planks and V sits. Lean up against a tree and hold a squat for as long as you can. Walking lunges are also a great way to add more leg toning into your outdoor workout. Get creative with your workout, it can be a fun way to add variety to your workout!
