Have you ever said, “I’m too busy with work, kids or life to exercise and eat healthy right now”? I hear you! Life pulls you in so many directions, your health and wellness will typically take a backburner to your other responsibilities. After all, the bills are not going to pay themselves, work is always demanding and there are events to attend. It almost feels selfish or indulgent to take a moment away from your responsibilities to make your health a priority. Again, I hear you!
We always know what we should be doing, but for some reason most people don’t take the next step and actually follow through on their promises. Right now I want you to take a second and just imagine how much happier, more productive, energetic, loving and helpful you would be if you took the time to exercise, cook healthy meals, and work on inner peace (I personally use prayer and my Christian faith, but others enjoy meditation and positive affirmations) everyday. Does it make you feel happy, excited and energized? You could feel that way ALL the time! When you feel your best, you’ll be able to give the best of you to your friends, family, work and the world.
I truly believe that we are meant to use our God given gifts to help people and create a better world. Is it really possible to make a great impact on the world if we are not feeling well? No. We are meant to enjoy the amazing gift of life and give back by helping others.
The holidays are crazy, but this next week I challenge you to take one action to become healthier. Your action doesn’t have to be big; you just have to commit to it! Once you take care yourself, you will be amazed by what you can accomplish. Take time for you, because you and the people in your life deserve the best possible version of yourself.
